We woke up this morning, to the sound of rain outside, a lovely start to our Sangam adventure. After a well needed breakfast, we were straight in the pool as the programme didn't start until later.
We had a short opening flag ceremony, to welcome all the countries currently being represented in Sangam. This was followed by an Indian lunch, which was really nice but we were all confused by the dessert, a rice pudding like dish with wheat NOODLES! Then, we had a tour around Sangam to learn some of the history behind the world centre, and met the Sangam family, who were all very welcoming.
After a quick cup of Chai tea, we were off again on a walk around the neighbouring area of Pune. It was a bit of a culture shock, seeing the different side of life, especially random cows in the streets. This was shortly followed by a buffet style curry dinner, and some down time before the official opening ceremony.
We all got into our smart uniform, before being individually welcomed to Sangam and given a flower garland. This was followed by lots of photos, which we're sure you will see when we return. We are now keen to get back into the pool before heading off to bed for another fun filled day tomorrow.
Thanks for reading,
Lucy, Ria and Katie
